On September 28, 2007 Erin committed to Coach Carol Gates to join the Lady Cougars Volleyball Program of Spring Arbor University in Spring Arbor, Michigan for the 2008 season. Spring Arbor University is part of the NAIA Mid Central College Conference. Check back soon for more details. On September 9, 2007, Erin was named to the All Tournament Team at Overland Classic 2007 in Aurora, Colorado. According to the Rocky Mountain News, during the 2007 season Erin has consistently led the Class 5A Continental League in blocking, maintained a top 15 ranking in hitting and a top 30 ranking in serving. Rocky Mountain News - Erin Johnson, Middle Blocker Following her great 2007 club season, Erin is now an integral part of her Rangeview High School Lady Raiders varsity volleyball team. Erin provides powerful blocking, hitting and serving skills (and even a few digs and sets) for her team as they compete in the Colorado Class 5A Continental League. As a Team Captain she is working hard both to motivate and to learn from her team. On July 5-8, 2007 Erin's Colorado Juniors VBC team played at the 2007 Jr. Olympic Volleyball Championships in Minneapolis, MN. They came away with a 33rd place finish in the American Division.
On Sunday, May 6, 2007, at the Rocky Mountain Region Junior National Qualifier tournament Erin's volleyball team received a bid to the Junior Olympic Volleyball Championships held July 5-8, 2007 in Minneapolis, MN. They were one of only 48 teams from the country competing in the American Division at Junior Olympics. For the 2007 club season Erin was part of an awesome volleyball club, Colorado Juniors VBC on the 17 Sean team. This involved a two-hour round-trip commute several times each week but it was a great team and they had a great season in the Rocky Mountain Region, at several national qualifier tournaments and, at the 2007 Junior Olympic Volleyball Championships in Minneapolis in July. Erin's team began the 2007 Rocky Mountain Region season with a 1st place finish at the RMR seeding tournament on January 21, 2007. They won all five of their matches with only one game lost the entire day. With that outcome they played Power # 1 in the mixed division which includes the top 18s, 17s and 16s teams. At that tournament they took 4th place behind only the 18s teams, maintaining their 1st place in the RMR 17s. They played well throughout the rest of the RMR season, culminating May 12 with a 3rd place regional finish behind two open teams, Colorado Performance 17-1 and Colorado Juniors 17-1. They also received an overall 4th place Mountain Division (including RMR and InterMountain) ranking for May by PrepVolleyball.com. Omaha 2007 brought a 5th place finish out of 48 club teams for Erin's 17 Sean team. The finished with a 6-2 record for the tournament. Erin's team played well with a 6-2 tournament record at Crossroads on March 16-18, coming away with a 9th place finish out of 128 club teams. At the SCVA 2007 Girls National Qualifier in Southern California they finished in 9th place out of 72 club teams on March 30 - April 1, 2007. At the Far Western National Qualifier in Reno they finished in 4th place out of 64 teams. They just missed a bid for Junior Olympics in Reno but earned it the following weekend in the Rocky Mountain Region. They had fun too with their "prom-alternative" at the Reno tournament as caught by PrepVolleyball.com. Next and final stop for this season is the 2007 Junior Olympic Volleyball Championships in Minneapolis on July 5-8, 2007.
